About and method

GetYourWebHost compares web hosts the way you would compare flats: what you pay to move in, what you pay after the first term, and what is in the small print. The site is run by Patric Daccache in Dubai.

How a host gets a listing

We list hosts we can describe from public, checkable facts: the host's own price and plan pages, independent test publications and large rating sites. Thirty hosts are listed today. Nobody pays to be listed.

Where the prices come from

Every price is read on the host's own pricing page and dated in the listing. We record the intro price, the term it needs and the renewal price. When a host does not publish its renewal price, we say so and count the intro price, marked with an asterisk. Prices are in US dollars excluding tax, except Cloud86, which sells in euros.

How the scores are made

Each host gets five scores from 1 to 5: speed, support, ease of use, value and room to grow. They are our reading of the sources listed at the bottom of each listing. We do not run our own server tests and do not claim to.

How the order is made

The skyline is sorted by rent over the years you pick. The listings page sorts by the average of the five scores, by three-year rent or by renewal increase. The viewing tour weights the scores by your answers and checks the three-year rent against your budget.

How we earn money

Some links to hosts are affiliate links. If you sign up through one, the host pays us a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate status is not an input to any list, score or tool. Kamatera is listed with a plain link that earns us nothing.

Corrections

Prices change often. If you see a number that is out of date, write to contact@getyourwebhost.com and we will check it.
